Megan McGonigal

Megan is a qualified Social Worker with over five years of experience working within Buckinghamshire Council, supporting adults with a wide range of needs to achieve positive outcomes.

As the Positive Risk Enablement Panel (PREP) Coordinator, she plays a key role in supporting professionals to navigate complex situations where risk, independence, and person-centred decision-making must be carefully balanced. She coordinates the PREP process, ensuring referrals are appropriately considered and that practitioners have access to guidance and support throughout the panel journey.

Megan provides consultation and advice to both internal and external professionals, helping colleagues and partner agencies explore complex cases, understanding eligibility and referral requirements, and identifying the most appropriate next steps. Through a collaborative approach, she supports practitioners to develop robust, evidence-based recommendations that promote positive risk-taking while safeguarding individuals' wellbeing.
