Oliver McGowan Training Programme
The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism was developed in response to the tragic death of Oliver McGowan, which highlighted the urgent need for specific training among health and social care professionals.
This training, named in Oliver’s memory, is the nationally recognised standard and is the recommended approach for equipping staff with the knowledge and skills to provide safe, compassionate, and inclusive care.
This training is delivered by a trio of trainers: a trained facilitator, a lived experienced trainer with a learning disability and an autistic lived experienced trainer.

(Due to Oliver’s story being described, some staff may find some of the content of the training distressing.)
