Meet Alfie, Zara, and Jess—three students who participated in our Health & Social Care Cadet placement to explore adult social care and develop valuable real-world skills.
Each of them shares how their hands-on experiences during the placements helped them understand day-to-day care and foster personal growth. Zara stepped outside her comfort zone by learning to communicate with residents who are non-verbal. Jess discovered that her social skills improved more than she had anticipated. Alfie found the experience genuinely rewarding, leaving with a desire to stay longer.
